These trees are also known as Northern White Cedar. These trees are grown at our location, from sprouts, and are approx. 2-3 years old. They have been container-grown much of their life span. The Growing specifications are: They prefer Well drained to somewhat poorly drained soil, their potential mature height is 40 +, they have moderate tolerance to salt (a NY tradition on the roads in the winter time), and they are a moderate to rapid grower, we think they are very much similar to other arborvitae s that some are calling green giants ....when planting these in their permanant growing location, they should be spaced @ approx. 5-6 feet apart if you are using for windbreak, erosion control or a living hedge as they are twice as wide in maturity as a emerald green arborvitae is or other arborvitae s...this specimen that we have in our picture is approx. 4-5 feet wide now and it s not full grown, but is approx. 7-8 years old, and is manicured to keep it s smaller shape...you can manicure or not, depends on the situation you are planting these trees in.
